Spotlight on A Scrapbook Store and More

“Creating a Scrapbook isn’t just about organization; it’s about creating everlasting memories. A scrapbook can be a photo album, recipe holder, pregnancy journal, a keepsake of family photos to be passed down through the generations or you can jazz up a simple calendar.”

After 35 years of working in the corporate world Paula Beeten started to wonder if she really loved what she was doing.  After some deep soul searching and with the support of her husband of 33 years and their twin children, she decided to make a lifestyle change and leave her job to embark on a new career path.  Paula has always had a passion for scrapbooking and a natural creative flare, and because of this she decided to open A Scrapbook Store and More, LLC.

A Scrapbook Store and More has a variety of classes that are offered during the day and in the evenings.  The classes range from beginner to advanced, so there is something for everyone.  The store also provides ‘Table Time’ for customers, Monday through Thursday, for $5.00 to come in and work on a project.  A Scrapbook Store and More is available for hosting birthday parties, corporate events, community events as well as the ever popular Crop.  Check out their calendar for upcoming events or call to schedule a private event.  Along with their impressive services, they have an extensive amount of products available in their store.  You will be able to find adhesives, embellishments, paper, stencils, stickers, templates, tools and more supplies than I can name!

Spotlight on Kiwi Lane Designs

One of the hottest new trends right now is scrapbooking.  If you think about it, you probably know several people who are avid, dedicated scrapbookers.  These people take painstaking care to protect and preserve the most treasured moments of their lives.  Many times when we look at the finished product of these ‘avid’ scrapbookers we become discouraged because of all the creativity and work they put into their scrapbooks.  Well, Kiwi Lane Designs has come up with a solution for those of us who are creatively challenged…Framing!

Kiwi Lane Designs was started three years ago by Susan Budge, her mother-in-law Debbie Budge and her sister-in-law Shiloh Jorgensen.  They were growing frustrated with the direction the scrapbooking industry was going which was geared toward using one photo on a single page.  They wanted to use several photos on a page, so after many discussions they came up with ‘Framing.’  When you frame, you take your Designer Templates and arrange them on your background paper to create a ‘frame’ for your photos.  Once you have designed a frame for your pictures, simply trace each design element onto your coordinating paper and cut out with a pair of scissors.  Now replace each template with the coordinating paper you just cut out.  By using this technique, along with Kiwi Lane’s Designer Templates, you will save time, get in touch with the designer in you, and save money by taking advantage of the beautiful patterns on your scrapbook paper to embellish your page!

“For many of us the scrapbooking process, from concept to completion can be a long, intimidating, expensive process.  We’ve all been there… staring at our paper, or our photos, hoping that a new and interesting idea will leap out at us.  Pouring through magazines, or browsing blogs in search of inspiration.  And then, when we finally get to work, we find that we are nervous about cutting into our favorite paper, or cropping our photos, because we aren’t sure how it will look in the end.  How do I fit a lot of pictures on a page and still end up with a beautiful layout?  My pictures cost me a couple of dollars and my embellishments cost me ten. When I add those embellishments to my page, how do I make sure my pictures are still the star?  “Framing” is the answer to all these questions and more.  It is a new process created by scrapbookers for scrapbookers, and will be the key that unlocks the designer in you!”

Kiwi Lane Designs has a multitude of products to offer.  Their product line includes many different border sets as well as accessory sets that come in a variety of different shapes.  They also have photo sets as well as paper kits.  You can find several different tools for scrapbooking such as scissors, distress ink, glue and a corner punch.   If you are also interested in creating your own cards, they have border sets for that as well.  You can buy their sets individually or in bundles, the choice is entirely up to you!

Kiwi Lane Designs uses Email Contact to send out newsletters 1-2 times a month.  They inform their customers about sales and new fun scrapbooking tips and tricks.  Kiwi Lane Designs says, “We are able to stay connected with our customers and keep them up to date on the latest news.
